This “back warmer” mat allows your horse to relax deeply before or after a work session.
The back warmer is made from the brand’s flagship material, Welltex®. Thanks to the ceramic powder it contains, this heating mat transforms the heat naturally released by the body into long infrared waves. Its long, anatomical cut covers the main muscles of the back, lumbar region and kidneys.
Benefits
- Improved blood circulation: Ceramic particles reflect body heat in the form of long infrared waves, promoting better blood circulation and helping to relax muscles, reduce inflammation and speed up recovery after physical exertion.
- Relieves muscle and joint pain: By increasing blood circulation, the back warmer relieves muscle and joint pain. Ideal for horses suffering from stiffness or discomfort due to exercise, age or other problems.
- Injury prevention: By keeping the horse’s back, lumbar and kidney muscles warm and relaxed, the Body Warmer prevents injuries caused by muscle tension or pulling. It is often used in preparation for exercise to help prepare the muscles for exertion.
- Improved general well-being: A pleasant feeling of warmth and comfort, contributing to general well-being. Horse owners notice an improvement in their horses’ behaviour and comfort when they use this product.
- Versatility of use: The Body Warmer can be used in a variety of situations, whether during training sessions, during recovery after exercise, during lunging or even under a blanket in cold weather.
Use
- Before exercise: You can use the Back Warmer before exercise to help prepare your horse’s muscles for exertion. A 20-30 minute period is recommended. This allows the mat to warm up the muscles and improve blood circulation before the activity.
- During exercise: The Back Warmer is not intended for use during riding or intense exercise. It must be removed before the rider gets on the horse or before the activity begins.
- After exercise: After exercise, you can leave the Back Warmer in place for a recovery period. This will help relax tired muscles and promote recovery. How long you use it will depend on your horse’s tolerance and comfort level.
- Lunging or resting: You can also use the Back Warmer when your horse is lunging, walking or resting.
The back warmer features:
- with surcingle loops for use when lunging
- 2 attachment rings for attaching the Back Warmer Collar (sold here) for walking alongside or working on foot
- a removable hook-and-loop fastener running the length of the back so it can be secured under a blanket
Warning: The Back warmer Back on Track is not suitable for riding. It is only used in the rest phase.
Composition: 100% polypropylene, 100% polyester quilting, 100% polypropylene bands.
Care
- Machine washable at 30°C: the ceramic powder is fused into the fibres, so it doesn’t come off when you wash it.
- Do not use bleach or fabric softener.
- Dry in the open air, not in the tumble dryer, otherwise the Welltex® fabric will be damaged.
