Thanks to its padded side Wings, the FlyPad® creates a spinal channel that keeps the pony’s spine and withers completely free from pressure, without any rigid structure. This design supports the pony’s natural freedom of movement while helping protect its back from impacts caused by a child’s occasional loss of balance. The Wings can be repositioned to adapt to different pony shapes and conformations.
Safety and stability for young Riders
When a pony is ridden by a young child, safety comes first. The non-slip underside of the FlyPad® Mini keeps it securely in place, while the leather handle provides reassurance for beginners or children being led on a lunge line as they gain confidence.
The FlyPad® Mini is not fitted with stirrups and this is intentional. We recommend going without them at first, as they actually require greater balance and can present a risk of the child's foot becoming caught. This allows the child to develop a truly natural seat while maintaining a sufficiently subtle contact with the pony's back to improve their balance and progress.
